Shifting Demand Structure for Cold-Drawn Steel: Proportion of Precision Tubes and Profiled Sections Continues to Rise

On one hand, industries such as hydraulics and pneumatics, automation equipment, and new energy vehicle components are demanding higher standards for the internal surface finish and dimensional consistency of cylinder tubes and precision shaft components, thereby driving increased consumption of cold-drawn or cold-rolled precision tubing.

On the other hand, an increasing number of customers prefer using cold-drawn profiles with special cross-sections to directly replace certain milling or broaching operations, aiming to reduce machining time and material waste through single-step forming. Such requirements typically involve medium-sized batches and non-standard cross-sections, placing high demands on the supplier's mold-making capabilities and process integration.

For purchasers, it is advisable to specify the "intended application, key mating dimensions, and subsequent processing methods" during the inquiry stage. This enables suppliers to propose the most suitable material and precision specifications, avoiding both over-specification and the use of substandard materials.
